All together now: Ha-a-a-a-a....
Posted by Clay Shirky
...py Birthday to us,
Happy Birthday to us,
Happy Birthday, deeeeeear M-To-M,
Happy Birthday to us
A year and a bit ago, Liz Lawley and Hylton Jolliffe cooked up the idea for a weblog on social software, and Liz, wanting a social blog to be social to its core, then rounded up the rest of us. The first official post was April 23, 2003.
After the intros, Liz's first post was
Why I don't Like Wikis; mine was a pointer to Jo Freeman's brilliant
The Tyranny of Structurelessness; Ross's was
The Social Capital of Blogspace; and Seb's was on
Smarter, Simpler, Social.
And now we're one, 600 hundred or so posts later (no exact count, as some stories didn't get ported over in the move...) Thank you all for reading; one year on, it's pretty obvious that things are just going to get more interesting on this front.
Congratulate us for passing the drooling stage; now comes the part were we start toddling around breaking things...
